Trespasser

Almost exactly ten years after its release, Jurassic Park: Trespasser has finally got the coverage it deserves in PC Gamer UK.  Trespasser is pretty much a whipping-boy, despite having an almost peerless atmosphere.  I have never played a game which made me feel as exquisitly lost and alone – but in a good way, feeling like I had all the time in the world to just explore a truly beautiful, strange environment.

About time someone noticed.  You can still buy it on budget (and with this coverage it may come to Steam soon), and it’s an essential part of the gaming canon.

Tresspasser! \o/ Nothing compares to slapping raptors with your palm/weapon while escaping backwards!
(duh, how can you shoot when it is so close to you or you don’t have any ammunition?)
It was a very great game.

I remember looking for this game ages ago… i never did find it =[

Looking back at the descriptions of it though, it sounds a whole lot like STALKER with dinosaurs. I think some of its ideas were better though.

Looks like it should have compromised on things like picking up objects and using keycards. The combat, however... many wasted hours on Black Shades tells me that the combat system was an ingenius idea, and should definitely be readopted and perfected by someone. It's funny, but i had actually been mulling over a very similar idea since just a couple of weeks before i found Black Shades, and before i realised how combat worked in this =]

Hey Toshers. I’ll have to look up Black Shades, never heard of it.

It takes a little while to get used to, and try to just think of it as an arcade game really. It’s a huge amount of fun though ^.^
