Zombie Cow – Free Money for Indie Games (Also “Ben There, Dan That”)

Dan Marshall from Zombie Cow is giving away $400 to an indie project voted for by readers of his site from a shortlist he’s drawn up. This is the conclusion of his idea to make money through selling indie titles on Gibbage.co.uk. It slightly saddens and irritates me in equal measure, for some reason…also, I really need a new mouse because mine is broken, but I don’t think that it’s possible for me to get any of this “lottery money” as, mercifully, nobody nominated us as a potential receptacle.

Anyway, enough of that: we like Ben There, Dan That, Dan’s endlessly self-referential point-and-click adventure. You should play it if you like the genre – it will make you laugh. Ian liked it a lot more than me, and it definitely needs voice acting, but it’s a great example of how fun you can make an indie game if you set yourself intelligent limitations. Its PR has been slow and subdued – I think it should be more widely known, so play it and tell your friends.
