Help Get Determinance On Steam!

We have had a very long and involved history of attempting to get Determinance onto Valve’s Steam download service, culminating in two refusals. I’m not really into the whole giving up thing in general, and having received four or five “You Should Put This Game On Steam” mails and comments in the last week, I thought that maybe we could use The Power of the Internet to ask Valve one final time.

So now we have the Get Determinance on Steam petition – please sign it if you would like the chance to buy Determinance from Steam, and you think other people should also have that chance.

I feel I need to keep saying two things at the moment, so here they are again…

1. Determinance is a flawed game, but some people like it a great deal.

These people absolutely love the game, and they get frustrated that there’s nobody to play against and leave the community.

One of Determinance’s flaws is that it it’s really fun for a while, but pretty exhausting to play. We’re addressing that issue in our new game, Frozen Synapse, but it’s always been disappointing to me. That’s not a good reason to allow the game to curl up and die, however – there are people out there who will like it.

Try the demo if you haven’t yet, and then you decide.

2. We have nothing against Valve…

…aside from the fact that they wouldn’t give me a reason why Determinance couldn’t be distributed on Steam. I’m sure quite a lot of people would comment, “Because it’s shit LOL”, and that may be fair enough, but there are (I’m going to get into trouble now) other “objectively shit” games on Steam. I, personally, enjoy buying weird dodgy games; I believe that is what digital download services are for – impulse-buying odd stuff. At $10, Determinance is perfect value for money even if it’s in that category!

The Ultimatum

If we get 5000 signatures on the petition in the next 6 months (that’s a lot) – I will personally fly out to Valve’s offices and give it to them.

If we get 10,000 signatures, I will personally fly out to Valve’s offices and give it to them, while dressed up as a tomato.

I will do absolutely everything in my power to get a meeting where I present the petition to one of the big honchos in the company.

Please sign the petition today and support indie gaming!
