Starting to click
After battling with the tv coding stuff for over a week, yesterday things finally started to click. There’s nothing like feeling you understand a system you’re coding in – you suddenly feel in control; powerful. You’ve mastered the system.
If you were to ask me what my coding special area is, I would probably say “real time”. Real time applications are those which do things at a regularly ticked pace – usually between 20 and 50 times a second. It’s the bread and butter of gaming and also hugely useful to this tv stuff, and it’s generally seen as one of the harder coding disciplines. Being an expert in a hard discipline feels pretty good.
