This week's episode should be up this weekend, sorry for the lateness. But we did just post a beta village we did before we went live, in the post below this one.

Where's this week's episode? ;P

And last week I got excited when I saw "exploding prostitutes" because I thought you guys were going to talk about Frankenhooker in the wrap-up...

Also, Maniac Mansion is soooo much better than Day of the Tentacle.

Censorship FAIL. But, luckily, after a short go on it I must say I REALLY like it thus far. I don't want to positively pre judge, but hooray. Take prototype off me any day for this.

DOTT is so legendary in its nature though because it actually plays like a surreal comedy cartoon as opposed to a game. It's actually about the characters interaction with their surroundings as opposed to YOUR interaction with the game. "Telltale-ifying" it could remove the comic elements and the edgyness.
I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that Telltale will use the tentacle characters in the wrong way, making them slightly different. DO they have the Maniac Mansion IP or DOTT? That'd be interesting, a new Maniac Mansion game could work quite well, one unrelated to Benard, Hoagie and Laverne...

You're going to have to really promise me that you LOVE Red Faction in order for me to allow you to Encounter it. Editorial policy of Village is that Red Faction gets good treatment.

Well, this adventure game reinvention issue is one that clearly we have a different stance on! The thing with a sequel to these classic games, for me, is that anything is better than nothing because it wouldn't tarnish the original in my mind. With some massive current IP like mass effect it'd be hugely different because derailing the ip mid saga would be a travesty, but with stuff like MI and DOTT, they aren't really epic sagas and despite MI having 3 sequels, they are all rather self contained bits of fun. The massive lapse in time since DOTT would be a factor too - this really is so long down the line, i don't think anyone's going to have the original dragged down in their mind. How many people are new to DOTT in this day and age? My PC wont even play it. People already love it, and yes a new one might garner a bad reaction from the hardcore Bernard lovers, but I for one would at least enjoy taking a look at it being brought into this century.

Best Kermode review ever. On the LEBOAWOOUF (or however his silly name is spelt) issue, apparently the pretty woman in it, Megan Fox, has come out and said she loves the wii (lol). Clearly tension brewed for transformers 3. But seriously, fair comment. The wii is in a different league to the other game systems, and while microsoft and sony can incorporate the toy like games, wii just is nothing else. A hot seller or not, it's not a serious games console in my opinion. I'm with Shia on this one. I'd like to be in the Megan boat, but this is a war, and in war, men must be on a boat together. Not quite sure what I mean here.

Good show! I especially enjoyed Ian pronouncing 'les miserables'.
