  1. Faxmachinen:

    What I’ve learnt from playing games is mainly two things: English, and how to play games.
    If you ever tried teaching your mom how to play your favorite game, you’ll know what I mean. Even if a game has mechanics you’ve never encountered before, you’re still at a huge advantage over someone who has only played minesweeper.

  2. Paul:

    I forgot to mention this but I did actually learn some Greek and Roman mythology from the King’s Quest games when I were a nipper. I’m such a middle-class git.

  3. Herr_Alien:

    @Natal’s lag:
    Well, it’s all about processing power. If they manage to pull the motion detection algorithm to be fast enough, lag might go away.

    @AvP
    Dunno about it. I can’t play the game (an old computer), and unfortunately the game play videos didn’t sell it for me.

    @Patrick Stewart
    What’s wrong with him expressing his opinion? He is allowed to hate stuff. Just that it happens to be video games …

  4. Paul:

    - Natal

    I’m getting to be like Ian on this – this generation of motion sensing games will be completely boring and irrelevant to people who like games with any kind of depth. Good for party games, bad for “real” games.

    -AvP

    Yeah, I’ve lost interest.

    This was a perfect example of why interviewing celebrities about anything other than their actual function is a completely ludicrous exercise.

    Any comments on this:

    Is this ludicrous? I mean we are talking about the former CEO of DICE.

  6. Paul:

    Anyone who describes the Wii as a “virus” is clearly awesome.

  7. Herr_Alien:

    I for one thought (and still think) that the guy is out of his league. Just because he can’t make a good game for the Wii that doesn’t mean the Wii is not a gaming platform.

    I brought this issue up to point out that you don’t have to interview somebody out of “their actual function” to get some ‘smart’ results.

  8. work is sometimes monotonous and intelligent podcasts are the antidote:

    I know you guys are busy making great games and all, but I just can’t helping missing the amazing podcast. *sniff*

  9. Paul:

    That’s the third request I’ve got TODAY for a new one, so we will try and sort one out soon.

  10. Paul:

    Despite, obviously, this being an old request.
