  1. Nick:

    I HAVE been playing, but on my paid beta account! :P

  2. Herr_Alien:

    @Pay Street Fighter experts for lessons:
    WTF!! The whole point of the game is to learn and to become an expert. I really don’t see that master-apprentice relationship in Street Fighter or MK.

    @R4 being banned:
    There’s a thin line between the R4 and burning CDs. In case of PC piracy, why don’t they ban CD/DVD burners?
    And, to put it in another way, if there was an easy way to flash any given console to have it run pirated DVDs, would that finally bring the discussion of banning DVD burners? :)

    @erotic role-play in WOW:
    Having ‘the police’ raiding the Goldshire Inn will only make it worse. I bet Blizzard never thought of these kind of things when designing the game :) )

    @”Unfinished, by design”:
    There’s no reasonable DRM system for SP. As soon as the code in it’s entirety arrives at the user, somebody will devise a crack. In MP you can control things via the master server (where all game servers register themselves and where all game clients request the list of game servers), but in SP, there is no reasonable method.

    Herr Alien, I want to make my stance on this clear.

    This is about what percentage of use of a THING is for piracy.

    99.9% of the R4′s use is for piracy
    maybe 20% of a cd burner’s use is for piracy.

    And remember, I didn’t say that I support the ban, just that I’m not THAT offended or surprised by it.

  4. Herr_Alien:

    :) Ian, I also want to make my stance clear: in Romania, 99.9% (or maybe just about 95%, can’t say for sure) of the recordable CDs/DVDs are used for piracy.
    The only difference between R4s and DVDs is that the entities producing DVDs are far too strong to be bullied around with this kind of measures. So they pick on the guy who can’t fight back.
