Adventures with the Advanced Search function

Hey guys.

I woke up this morning and realised there was a piece of functionality I HAD to have in FS – an advanced search facility to find games with certain attributes.  Here’s an example.

PLEASE NOTE that the menu graphics are just temp ones and this is not final art.  Thank you.  Also, I’m aware that it’s a bit squashed in the blog – you may need to click the pictures to get a good view.

Alright!  Let’s find all games played by Bin.

1431!  That’s a lot.  That includes all games that haven’t been finished (mainly ones for testing against me) so let’s tick the “Complete” box.

1109… still quite a lot.   (And *just* more than Beefiest, who doesn’t get paid to play this game).

Bin and YouGo have a pretty good rivalry going on – they’re always swapping #2 and #3 on the global rankings.  Let’s find all finished games between them.

56 games in the series – a decent number.  How many has Bin won?

31 – he *just* has the series edge.  Finally, let’s see if he beat YouGo in 2 or fewer turns ever:

Turns out he did!  Three times.

This is one of those features that programmers love to make.  I feel like we’ve already gone so all-in on our match archiving that we really need a tool like this so you can look up fun things like this.  Loading a game is as easy as double clicking it too.

A chiptune album from Mode 7!

No Carrier Rush Album Preview by _ensnare_
I’ve just released a chiptune album called No Carrier Rush under my new alias _ensnare_You can take a listen above and head over to the site to purchase it.

It would seem that Blogger think the _ensnare_ site is spam, and want to take it down for two days without discussing it.  Thanks Blogger.  Listen to the preview above and stay on this site!

If you’d like to buy it and support Mode 7 further, we’d really appreciate it.  Some of the Frozen Synapse community have been buying today.  If you’re interested in stuff like this it will enable us to do more standalone music projects in the future as well as try some more ambitious things!

You can buy the Standard Edition (320kbps MP3 download) for $6 from this  link.  Thank you!

If you’d like to purchase the Premium Edition for $8 and support us in possibly doing more stand-alone music projects in the future, you can do so here!

Fulmer Cupdate

My apologies for the lack of updates here.  We’ve been working full out on single player, as well as distracting things like Christmas and moving house, so I’ve been a bit busy to post.  The light is visible at the end of the tunnel – I can’t wait to get you guys playing our campaign.
